Securing a sustainable value chain with EcoVadis

Circle K have signed up an agreement with EcoVadis, the world leading provider of sustainability ratings, in order to take our sustainability focus to the next level.

Circle K has a new strategy for Corporate Responsibility (CR), where we clearly state that we want to be a part of the future solution, and that we are willing to take the necessary steps to secure this.

As a company we want to secure that our suppliers live up to the same standards as we have set. To ensure this, we have signed up an agreement with EcoVadis, the world’s leading provider of sustainability ratings and monitoring solutions.

EcoVadis is also used by other big companies in our markets; DHL Schenker, Telenor, DNB and SKF in addition to a number of global companies like Heineken, Nestle and Subway.

“I think this is taking us to the next level on how we work with our suppliers in the sustainability area,” says Helena Winberg, Head of the CR initiative in Circle K Europe.

Circle K has already started to score the first suppliers with EcoVadis, focusing on areas such as with private brands products, fuel sourcing and products manufactured in Asia like uniforms.

Moving forward an EcoVadis scorecard will be a requirement in all new contracts we sign. The target will be to score as many of our suppliers as possible.

With the EcoVadis model, the questionnaire is adjusted in accordance to the risk of the operation which is based on size, industry and geography to ensure this should fit all our suppliers.
