New road toll in Hungary

New road toll in Hungary- HU-GO system- is implemented from 1st July, 2013 for vehicles over 3.5 tones.

In the HU-GO distance-prorated electronic toll collection system, toll payments can be made in two ways:
1. by purchasing a one-time route ticket,
2. by adding credit to your balance (from which route ticket payments can be withdrawn) or you can pay your OBU road usage invoice (registration is required)

Your Statoil Europe card can be used for pre-payment of the personal OBU account or as payment of one-time route tickets in POS where ROUTEX cards are accepted (i.e. selected Agip and OMV sites; lists of selected sites are available at the bottom of the article).

Registration is mandatory only if you prefer using OBU’s and it can be done at POS- Points of Sales- at kiosks in selected Agip & OMV sites and Internet. No registration is required for one-time route tickets which are available at POS or Internet. To calculate your trip please use the Toll calculator and see toll roads on the Map of Toll roads in Hungary. Additional information and FAQ are here: HU-GO FAQ.
