Invoice requirements in Germany

The date of receiving the invoice must be mentioned on the invoices.

German tax authority requires that the date of receiving the invoice must be mentioned also on the invoices, because the right of deduction and refund of VAT is determined by the date of receiving the invoice.

Therefore in the future we kindly ask you to mark on all invoices relating to purchases made in Germany the date, when you have received that invoice or those invoices. The date can be marked by stamp or alternatively by writing the date by hand on the invoice.
